Bonsai Japanese White Pine Bonsai Care, Yellowing Needles & Fertilising | mikbonsai
Japanese White Pine is Evergreen, but does have to replace its needs every two to three years. In Autumn, the needles turn yellow, these are best removed by gentle pulling motion. JWP are fertilised in Spring to aid growth in the summer months. It is fertilised again in autumn to boost its strength and get it ready for the spring.
Japanese White Pines’ natural habitat is on the mountain sides in Japan and when it rains they get plenty of water, which runs off the slope of the mountain and the soil dries out in between the previous and the next rainfall. JWP Bonsai also like this type of conditions, so after watering let the soil dry out and if there are any weeds in the pot, they should be wilting and that the sign to water it again.
