Bonsai Lonicera Nitida collected material – progression
This is a bonsai story of a Lonicera Bonsai Yamadori, Japanese for collected material. This is a Lonicera Nitida and In these videos I show how it will be made into to a Lonicera bonsai tree.
This is Part 2 of the progression in this series. I worked on this
tree in August of 2016. It was allowed to grow freely since June 2014. The purpose was to allow the new branches to thicken before doing more work on it. See part 1 link below:
I acquired this collected material in Spring of 2014 from some one who had collected it and potted it in the black plastic pot it is in. The owner had given up the hobby and I purchased five such trees. the cost was GBP £ 5 each It was up against a wall and all the growth was on one side. I did some tidy up work with a view to getting new growth all round. In June 2014 I took it to my bonsai club workshop and worked on it properly for the first time, removing unwanted branches, dead wood and slot deposit reduced it from double to a single trunk. The tree was left to recover and grow. This tree has made a lot of progress in the last two year. I have been working on it recently and realised that this original footage had not been published and for sake of completeness, publish it. The follow up videos would then be more complete, having shown how it was in the beginning.
How to grow, maintain and care for a Lonicera nitida, Honeysuckle bonsai tree from Yamadori, collected material.
This Lonicera was first worked on in June 2014 and can be seen in part 1 of this series.
