How to Bonsai and style Hawthorn Yamadori – Part 4 Also know n as collected material
Hawthorn Progression Video update
This tree was restyled in 2012, then repotted in summer of 2016 with drastic root pruning. Then its as severely pruned and left to recover. Some people in the UK took upon them selves to attack me on Face book in the UK and and a fb group page in America.
Their contention was that I was being too harsh with the root work and that I should not be bare rooting my trees and quoted a number of trees where I had done this, They questioned why I was not doing it the old fashioned way and what was wrong with that method. My response was this is progress and with bare rooting the tree we can see what the roots are doing and in a few year this method will have developed decent roots.
I questioned that if they believed in doing things the old fashioned way, why did they use cars and walk or take a horse and buddy. Also why they use luggage with wheels what was wrong with suitcases with not wheels ?
Its progress, they have been doing bonsai for a very long time and did not have the foresight to do things differently, and they are being a dog in manger and are were trying not to let any one else do things they did not have the courage to do it. Nigel Saunders was doing this before me. So I am in good company.
