The venue for the show is the Liston Hall in Marlow. It was built in 1874 and was used as a Methodist Church up until the 1970’s when it became available for other uses. Now it is used as a community centre. It’s a beautiful period building, with period features, very high ceilings, very large windows with plenty of natural light. Its build cost in 1874 was £ 700.
This tree belongs to Ian, who is working on it. The tree has been wrapped round dead wood trunk of another tree. Blue Star Juniper has take to the dead wood and I had to take a very close look and ask Ian if it was a wrap round. I was last worked on about four years ago. Since then it has sat on the back bench. Finally Ian decided to bring the tree to his club’s annual show and work on it and demonstrate the wiring and styling of the tree. Ian worked on the tree for six hours and show was for one day only so we ran out of time. The is another day’s work to complete the wiring and styling of the rest of the tree.
This tree’s should be in full sun or partial shade, likes well drained soil, is slow growing. Tackle it with gloves if you have one.
